Park Project
September 2018: We are making progress on Pine Cove Park and thought we’d share the news! Have you noticed the new sign that has gone in? Some landscaping activity will begin to be seen soon, as a sprinkler system is being laid and some donated trees and bushes will be planted in the new few weeks. The final permits and plans will be completed with the County in the next few weeks and hopefully, we will be breaking ground on the pavillion and playground by the end of this year, if not sooner. We had hoped to be at this stage earlier this year, but the flooding from Harvey caused great backlogs for the County, as they dealt with that big event and its affects throughout the region. Stay tuned for more news as progress is made!
April 2018: PINE COVE PARK is the name that has been chosen for the new park. The winning name was submitted by Gina Geyer.
March 2018: Name the Park contest has been closed. We had about 40 entries. Stay tuned for the announcement of the new park name and thanks to all who participated! Meanwhile, visit the link below (in February) to preview the new design, if you haven’t done so yet.
February 2018: The final park design has been completed and needs a name. The directors are requesting help from our community. Please submit your entry for our consideration in the area below before February 28 – one vote per email address. There is no prize but we will post the winner once a decision is made. Thanks for participating!

January 2018: The District continues to work tirelessly with the TCEQ (Texas Commission on Environmental Quality), Harris County Flood Control and Harris County to acquire the necessary permits, surveys, and design & bond applications. All approvals are forthcoming and the construction phase should be in motion beginning in the Spring of 2018.
August 2017: Though you may not be able to see any progress on our future district park at this time, there is much going on behind the scenes in regard to paperwork, planning, permits, etc. While design was of utmost importance at the beginning, and why we began in late 2016 with input from our residents, it also takes 8-12 months, or longer, to ensure we are in compliance with all TCEQ (Texas Commission on Environmental Quality) mandates before on site work can even begin. This means completing many applications required for the approval process and bond application process. Our engineering firm, legal team, and park architects have all of these mechanisms in motion and are working hard to fulfill and deliver an outstanding amenity to our community.
